NEW CASTLE —
Adapting is exactly what Morgan did as a child.
“We moved around a lot, but New Castle always felt like home,” he said of regular stops here when his parents returned during summer and holidays for family functions. Family then included both sets of grandparents and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. Betty Kay Maher, of Neshannock Township, is Andrew’s only remaining grandparent.
Morgan treasures those memories. There were Fourth of July picnics and family reunions at Pearson Park and swimming in Neshannock Creek and breakfasts a local restaurant with his grandfather, Jerry Maher, who drove a Neshannock school bus.
Similar visits have continued for Morgan and his wife and their four children.
“They also feel like New Castle is home,” he said.
