With lack of money, state can’t repair county’s deficient bridges

HARRISBURG — Weight restrictions expected

Twenty three bridges in Lawrence County are expected to receive weight restrictions because of lack of maintenance. They are:

•Mahoning Avenue, a 1,195-foot-long bridge over the Shenango River

•U.S. 19, a 32-foot bridge over Slippery Rock Creek

•Pulaski Road, a 32-foot bridge over Deer Creek

•Pulaski Road, a 36-foot bridge over Deer Creek

•Pulaski Road, a 12-foot bridge over a branch of Deer Creek

•Main Street, a 50-foot bridge over Wampum Creek

•Wampum Avenue, a 319-foot bridge over a railroad (already posted)

•Main Street, a 13-foot bridge over Sugar Creek

•Neshannock Falls Road, a 92-foot bridge over Little Neshannock Creek

•Neshannock Falls Road, a 11-foot bridge over a branch of the Little Neshannock Creek

•Highland Avenue, a 132-foot bridge over the Little Neshannock Creek

•Frew Mill Road, a 31-foot bridge over Big Run (already posted)

•Georgetown Road, a 11-foot bridge over a branch of Taylor Run

•North Tower Road, a 20-foot bridge over Funk Run

•Union Valley Road, a 27-foot bridge over McKee Run

•Mountville Road, a 190-foot bridge over Slippery Rock Creek

•East Poland Road, a 30-foot bridge over a branch of Hickory Run

•State Line Road, a 25-foot bridge over Hickory Creek

•Petersburg Road, a 10-foot bridge over a branch of Honey Creek

•Petersburg Road, a 25-foot bridge over a branch of Honey Creek

•West Washington Street, a 73-foot bridge over a railroad line.

•Pulaski Road, a 15-foot bridge over a branch of the Shenango River

•Route 324, a 43-foot bridge over Route 224.

    A triple shooting in an Ellwood City street has claimed the life of a Detroit area man. Gunfire erupted in the middle of Loop Street outside the Walnut Ridge housing project around 10:20 p.m. Sunday, according to state police.
