NEW CASTLE — Heavy rains that pelted Lawrence County in the past few days have resulted in road flooding in typical areas.

Rising waters have forced the closing of a couple of roads for people’s safety.

Covert’s Crossing in Union and Mahoning townships is closed and is expected to remain closed at least through Friday or until the water subsides.

Nashua Road in Pulaski Township was closed to vehicles around 11 p.m. Wednesday night.
