Two vacant houses burn over weekend

NEW CASTLE — Two vacant New Castle houses were destroyed by fire early Saturday.

Assistant New Castle Fire Chief Tom Bulisco said that houses at 504 Galbreath St. and 309 Carl St. were complete losses. The cause of each blaze is under investigation.

No injuries were reported.

Firefighters were called to the Galbreath Street fire at 2:06 a.m. and to the Carl Street structure a few blocks away at 6:16 a.m. Bulisco said it is not known if the two fires are related.
