BACK TO THE 50�S: Four days of classic cars, music set for Cascade Park

More than 1,000 participants are expected during the 22nd annual Back to the 50�s at Cascade Park.
The popular car and musical festival runs Thursday through July 6.
Gates open to the public at 5 p.m. Thursday. Vehicle registration also will take place. Tickets are $5 per person. Children under age 12 are admitted free on each day of the event. From 8 to 11 p.m., disc jockey Gregg Marshall will provide the entertainment. The Lawrence County Special Olympics is sponsoring the event.
On Friday, registration starts at 7:30 a.m. with the gates opening at 9 a.m. Admission is $5 before 3 p.m. and $10 afterward.
At 9 a.m., the Show and Shine judging will take place. The car cruise to Anthony�s Restaurant starts at 5 p.m. The moonlight cruise to Eat�n Park is slated for 11 p.m.
Marshall takes the main stage at 9 a.m., followed by Elvis of the 21st Century at noon. The New Holidays will perform at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Kenny Vance and the Planotones are featured at 8 p.m. The Dorals, sponsored by the Lawrence County Special Olympics, will perform in the dance hall at 9 p.m.

On July 6, car registration begins at 7:30 a.m. Gates open to the public at 9 a.m. Admission is $5 before 3 p.m. and $10 afterward.
The Show and Shine judging will take place from 7:30 to 10 a.m. At noon, the awards presentation will take place on the midway.
Playing on the main stage at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. are Johnny and The Halos. The Contours will perform at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Spectators will park at Cascade Park�s upper parking lot. All parking proceeds will benefit Par for the Cure, a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising money for breast cancer research.
