Here are some stories you will see only in today’s New Castle News:

POSTAL CONSOLIDATION: The U.S. Postal Service is looking into the feasibility of consolidating some operations in New Castle with Pittsburgh. If the consolidation should occur, up to 75 percent — 150 — of about 200 employees at the Cascade Street facility could lose their jobs, according to David Wigley, president of Local 227, American Postal Workers Union. Reporter John K. Manna will have the complete story in Wednesday's edition.

HOSPICE ROOM — In her final days, Doris Brooks was surrounded by love. She had her family nearby, a private, comfortable atmosphere and acute hospice care. And it all took place in Room 305 of Jameson Hospital. Reporter Lugene Hudson reveals how a new private room at Jameson is designed to meet the needs of hospice patients and their families.

STIMULUS MONEY — The New Castle Area School District projects it will receive $5 million as part of the federal stimulus package. “We’ve been notified by the (state) Department of (Education) that the monies are going to be flowing in very shortly,” Superintendent George Gabriel said. “The central administration team met last week on how they will spend the money.” Reporter Pat Litowitz has more in today's New Castle News.
