NEW CASTLE —
The annual Sundance Film Festival is under way in Park City, Utah.
The festival is an event of the Sundance Institute, a nonprofit organization that works to promote and advance the work of "risk-taking" storytellers. The institute was founded in 1981.
This year, a selection of film shorts that were chosen to debut at the Sundance Film Festival were released for screening on YouTube.
I have always wanted to attend the Sundance Film Festival. Unfortunately, it just hasn't been in the cards for me to do so.
I was very excited to see that the shorts would be available through social media. I love short films, as they pack a lot of emotion and art into a little amount of time.
This year's festival selections each held their own, but my personal favorite from the group was "Black Metal." I found myself thinking a lot about the story after viewing it. It was definitely a thought-provoking film.
You can still view the film shorts on YouTube by CLICKING HERE. Please take note that these films are aimed at an adult audience.
The Sundance Film Festival runs until Jan. 27. For more information on the festival, CLICK HERE.
Lastly, if you are interested in attending a local film festival, the Cleveland International Film Festival will run from April 3-14. I will be attending. To find out more, CLICK HERE.
