NEW CASTLE —
Last week, we talked about what the ladies could wear for Thanksgiving to be cute and comfortable. But what if you want to make it a family affair?
With a baby on the way, I have no shame in saying that I'm totally OK with a family clothing "theme.” Not matching clothes, mind you, but an overall theme. Don't worry, I find it just as ridiculous as it sounds, and I'm sure by the time we actually need to get our family dressed up I'll mainly be focused on what is clean and easy. But for now, it's fun to pretend.
So, over to the right I've grabbed the "cute" look and the "dressy" look from last week's post for the ladies and added in a complementary look for the guys and for the kids.
The first, more casual look for the guys, I chose a simple sweater and button-up shirt combination. To go even more casual, just forgo the button up and keep the sweater. The dark jeans and gray sneakers are still a bit dressy, so you can pretend you put some thought into your outfit. But they are definitely easy and comfortable.
For the dressier men's look, I chose a gray suit jacket and black pants so that the outfit is dressy but not completely formal, just like the velvet dress for the ladies. A black and white striped tie brings the top and bottom together and the black dress shoes are classy. Roll up the sleeves on the button-up shirt and blazer to get even more informal.
For the kids, I think the same outfits work for either a casual environment, or a more formal dinner. The toddler boy look is adorable with the velvet blue suit. For a more casual dinner, forget about the jacket and just let him play in the pants and roll up the sleeves on the top. The boots look dressy but are still easy enough to run around in.
For the baby girl look, I chose a simple gray dress with a pretty bow detail. The white leggings and adorable polka dot shoes complement the dress and keep your little girl warm. And to top if off in the cold temperatures, the little peacoat is the cutest coat around! (In case you're wondering, all of the pieces for the kids can be found at either H&M Kids or Zara Kids — they have REALLY fantastic and trendy clothes for the little ones.)
Now that you have a family look laid out, tell me — does your family normally match for holidays? Whatever you wear, I hope your day is filled with love, family, and lots of food!
