Sarah Stright-Hartley: A T-shirt dress can be a three for all

NEW CASTLE — I love finding pieces that can be worn for just about every portion of my life.

From daytime, to work, and then on a date with my husband, I like pieces that can go the distance. This T-shirt dress from TopShop is one of those. I've taken this dress and shown you how you can wear it in three ways, so check those out to your right.

Date Night — My favorite style for this dress is for when you're going out on a date. Wear it with semi-opaque tights, chain detail booties, and a chunky gold chain necklace. I also love a simple gold clutch and pretty bracelet to finish the look. This makes the look perfect for dinner and a movie, or going out dancing and it'll keep you cool and confident all night. Add a leather jacket if it's cold out.

Play Time — Make the dress casual by wearing simple sneakers with it. Top it off with a denim jacket (always the best way to make a dress casual but chic), and a summer scarf. I also like pulling a color out of the scarf to play up in a bag so that it brings the whole outfit together. Running errands in this dress makes you look completely put together, but you get to secretly feel like you're wearing pajamas!

Work Style — This dress can also be worn in a professional setting. Pair it with a pretty blazer (a floral one for spring is perfection), and classic pumps. If your office is conservative (or always really cold), just add tights to this look as well (which makes going out for date night even more simple). If you use a colorful or patterned blazer, be sure to keep the rest of your look simple to allow the blazer to stand out. For this look an easy tote bag to hold all your work necessities and simple reading glasses are all you need.
