NEW CASTLE —
A leather skirt for fall is one of those classic items that will never go out of a style.
Much like a leather jacket, the leather skirt can be paired with nearly anything to fit a mood, situation or environment. And with the huge range of options in pricing, color and style, you're sure to find one that fits your life.
To the right I've put together a few examples of how to wear a black leather skirt to keep the busy woman classically on trend.
Look 1: For a cozy day of running errands, meeting friends for lunch, and picking the kids up from school, pair your leather skirt with an oversized sweater and tights. A scarf in a great print and mary jane shoes help to keep the look from going slouchy.
Look 2: When you're heading to work, a meeting with your business partner, or going on a date, wear your leather skirt with a printed peplum top and emphasize your waist with a pretty bow belt. Opaque tights and pointy flats keep you warm and comfortable. Top off the look with a structured blazer to add instant polish.
Look 3: For a cute look to wear out with your girlfriends, on a date, or to a concert, balance the toughness of your leather skirt with a pretty bow sweater, over the knee socks and knee high leather boots. A knit hat amps up the "cool factor" and sparkly jewels keep your outfit looking pretty.
Have I convinced you that you need a leather skirt yet? Here are some great, low-price options if you'd like to give it a shot.
Forever 21: Pleated Faux Leather Skirt, $22.80
Forever 21: Zipped Faux Leather Denim Skirt, $19.80
Lane Bryant: Pleather Pencil Skirt, $54.95
Kohls: Faux Leather Pencil Skirt, $28.80 (sale)

Sarah Stright-Hartley: Top trends for men as the weather warms
We frequently talk women's fashion around these parts, so today I wanted to give the men a bit of a shout-out. Men's fashions are less likely to change year to year, but there are still "trends" each season that men will find in stores. To the right you'll find some of the top trends for spring/summer 2013.

Sarah Stright-Hartley: Looking for stylish way to pack your possessions? It’s in the bag
One of the most personal things a woman buys is a handbag. It holds all of her prized possessions. So when shopping for a new bag, there are a lot of things to consider. Size, color, quality, fabric and length of use. Is she looking for something to use year round, or something that can be changed each season?

Sarah Stright-Hartley: Want to add some zing for spring? Go ‘bloom’ yourself!
It's spring, it's spring! It finally feels like spring! Maybe I shouldn't say that too loudly, I don't want to scare it off. Anyway, one of the best parts of spring is seeing all of the pretty flowers popping up around the area.

Sarah Stright-Hartley: Don’t write off printed pants
One of the top trends for spring is the printed pant. In any print, in any color, this trend is definitely one that will make you stand out from the crowd. Floral patterns are the most common, but a strong graphic print in any pattern feels right on trend and fresh.

Sarah Stright-Hartley: I’ve learned what to wear from ‘What Not to Wear’
Contrary to popular belief, you CAN actually learn things from watching TV. “What Not to Wear” has been one of my favorite shows for years and Stacy and Clinton have taught me a lot. Now that the show is ending, I'm wondering who exactly I'll learn from next.

Sarah Stright-Hartley: Overalls are coming back — are you all in?
There's a trend that seems to be making the rounds that completely surprises me. In fact, I haven't thought about it since the 1980s — or maybe the early 90s. Overalls seem to be back — so far quietly, but I'm interested to see if the trend gains momentum.

On Monday I started a new job with a local company after almost two years of searching. This was cause for celebration for many reasons:

Sarah Stright-Hartley: Believe it or not, spring is here — so dress for it
It is slowly, slowly starting to warm up around here. But with the spring comes cool mornings and evenings and warm afternoons in-between. When I asked recently what people around me were having a hard time with, the answer was repeated over and over — how are we supposed to dress for these days?

Sarah Stright-Hartley: So, what’s in your bag?
One of the great things about being a woman is that you get to carry around bags filled with all of your favorite things to have whenever you may need them. One of the not-so-great things about being a woman is carrying around a bag filled with all of your favorite things — it gets heavy!
