NEW CASTLE —
It's graduation season!
May and June mark the end of one journey and the beginning of another for so many. And with this comes the opportunity to celebrate. So what do you wear to honor these new grads? Oftentimes these parties are fairly casual and dressing comfortable, easy, and for the scorching weather is important.
Let's base these clothing options on the time of day the parties are being held.
First up, a day party. Usually the most important obstacle to deal with during the day is the heat. For women, battle the heat in a cute but comfortable cotton dress. Bright (even neon) colors are so popular for summer, so the brighter the better!
Cute, but comfortable sandals and simple accessories, like a great hat to shield you from the sun, are all you need. For men, a simple polo shirt, comfortable cargo shorts and boat shoes will keep you cool while you enjoy the party.
For a night-time party you can kick things up a notch. Women, take out your favorite pair of dark wash denim in whichever cut you prefer (just make sure they're flattering to your body type. A boot cut is the most universally flattering). Add to that a pretty tank and bring a cardigan to toss on top as the temperatures go down.
For the men, a great fitting pair of dark denim paired with a relaxed long sleeve button down will look very cool. Top this look off with great loafers and you're ready to party!
Now all that is left to do is celebrate! Honor the graduates for all their hard work and look great doing it.

Sarah Stright-Hartley: Looking for stylish way to pack your possessions? It’s in the bag
One of the most personal things a woman buys is a handbag. It holds all of her prized possessions. So when shopping for a new bag, there are a lot of things to consider. Size, color, quality, fabric and length of use. Is she looking for something to use year round, or something that can be changed each season?

Sarah Stright-Hartley: Want to add some zing for spring? Go ‘bloom’ yourself!
It's spring, it's spring! It finally feels like spring! Maybe I shouldn't say that too loudly, I don't want to scare it off. Anyway, one of the best parts of spring is seeing all of the pretty flowers popping up around the area.

Sarah Stright-Hartley: Don’t write off printed pants
One of the top trends for spring is the printed pant. In any print, in any color, this trend is definitely one that will make you stand out from the crowd. Floral patterns are the most common, but a strong graphic print in any pattern feels right on trend and fresh.

Sarah Stright-Hartley: I’ve learned what to wear from ‘What Not to Wear’
Contrary to popular belief, you CAN actually learn things from watching TV. “What Not to Wear” has been one of my favorite shows for years and Stacy and Clinton have taught me a lot. Now that the show is ending, I'm wondering who exactly I'll learn from next.

Sarah Stright-Hartley: Overalls are coming back — are you all in?
There's a trend that seems to be making the rounds that completely surprises me. In fact, I haven't thought about it since the 1980s — or maybe the early 90s. Overalls seem to be back — so far quietly, but I'm interested to see if the trend gains momentum.

Sarah Stright-Hartley: I’ve got a new job and that means new clothes — yay!
On Monday I started a new job with a local company after almost two years of searching. This was cause for celebration for many reasons:

Sarah Stright-Hartley: Believe it or not, spring is here — so dress for it
It is slowly, slowly starting to warm up around here. But with the spring comes cool mornings and evenings and warm afternoons in-between. When I asked recently what people around me were having a hard time with, the answer was repeated over and over — how are we supposed to dress for these days?

Sarah Stright-Hartley: So, what’s in your bag?
One of the great things about being a woman is that you get to carry around bags filled with all of your favorite things to have whenever you may need them. One of the not-so-great things about being a woman is carrying around a bag filled with all of your favorite things — it gets heavy!
