Sarah Stright-Hartley: Best of the vest? Jean jacket, of course

NEW CASTLE — When I write the words "jean jacket vest," it brings me back to the ’90s.

But aside from that, I love the look of these vests brought into the modern age. The vests give a very casual edge to a look, but can also transform an outfit into something cooler. To the right I've taken the same jean jacket vest and styled it three ways to show its versatility.

Trendy — This look is great for going out with your girlfriends. It's a trendy look that is still sophisticated and very cool. A jean jacket vest paired with a black T-shirt with sheer neckline and floral skinny jeans is trendy but still feels classic. Nude booties, and statement jewelry are great finishing touches.

Date — A couple of trends are in play in this look: the jean jacket vest, and the crop top. I love a crop top paired with a high-waisted pencil skirt so that just a sliver of skin shows. When the crop top and skirt are worn with the vest, it makes your date night look a little more casual — perfect for a date at a concert, or a fun sports bar. Red accessories, like the skinny belt, shoes and bag make the outfit really stand out.

Casual — Probably the most "normal" way to wear the vest, a simple T-shirt and pleated shorts worn with a simple pair of flip-flops is great for these warm summer days. I also like wearing a bold statement necklace with this look because it makes it feel a bit more special and unique.  Consider a graphic T-shirt that you love to really make the outfit your own.

Have you tried a jean jacket vest?

On Wednesday, the House of Representatives voted to authorize Speaker John Boehner to sue President Obama for allegedly overstepping his legal authority with the way he's handled Obamacare. Good call?

Yes. Obama's been overstepping his authority since day one in office. It's time he pay the piper.
No. The allegations are ridiculous and the law suit is a waste of time and tax payer money.
I don't know. I'm not a huge fan of Obama, but the suit seems a little extreme.
