Sarah Stright-Hartley: Some styles to keep you looking hot this summer

NEW CASTLE — Summer is the perfect time to find new love. Summer dates call for the appropriate outfit and I've got a few for you!

Whether you're spending your date at the ball game, on a picnic, or a standard dinner and a movie, don't spend your time worrying about what you'll wear — think about the fun that you're about to have! If you look to the right, I've put together looks for both the guy and girl for your date.

First up is my personal favorite — a ball game date. What's better than getting to cheer for your favorite team together?

Don't worry about getting too dressed up for this date. In fact, those who do seem quite a bit out of place.

For the ladies, look for a baseball tee (a longer sleeve one will work best for a night-time game). Pair it with easy, relaxed boyfriend jeans and cute sandals. A cute hat announcing "your team" and easy accessories like sunglasses and a watch are all you need to cheer your heart out.

For the guys, show your love with your team T-shirt. Pair it with dark wash, relaxed jeans and sneakers, your team ball cap and a great watch. All that's left now is to battle it out over who knows more about your team!

The second type of date is the picnic. If you just want to sit outside in the beautiful weather and get to know each other, this is the perfect date for you. Feel free to get a bit more dressed up for this one.

Girls, look for a pretty spring dress in a bold color and fun pattern. Wear the dress with a contrasting color necklace and shoes to liven up your outfit. Sunglasses, a simple clutch and fun ring are great completer pieces. For the fellas, cargo shorts and a nice plaid button-down are a great outfit. Wear this with easy leather sandals and sunglasses.

Finally, the typical dinner and a movie date. For the girls, look for something a bit more dressy — a shimmering peplum top, skinny jeans and great statement-making shoes look classic and trendy at the same time. Bold accessories — like a statement necklace and large cuff bracelet — make you stand out a bit more. For the guys, casual trousers and an easy button down look casual but still dressy enough for the date. I love a brown belt, shoes and watch with black pants — it shows your style while staying classic.

So the only question left is, comedy, drama, or love story?

What do you wear on summer dates?

Do you talk to yourself when you're alone?

Yes, but I’m basically just thinking out loud.
No, that would be weird.
I don’t know. Next time I’m alone, I’ll ask.
