NEW CASTLE —
The time to relax on the beach, sun yourself and attend many barbecues. And also the time to free your feet from the confines of the past several months being bundled up in boots and closed-toe shoes.
Each summer I like to look for a new pair or two of summer sandals that I can add to my closet — sandals that can be worn daily and with just about anything I own.
I tend to search for pairs that are lightweight, easy to slip on and off, and are in classic, neutral colors. I also search for pairs that can be dressed up or down — that I can throw on for a trip to the beach, but can also be dressed up for a summer wedding.
But then every once in awhile a brightly patterned shoe jumps out at me and I just can't help myself. These shoes I tend to reserve for neutral looks like a T-shirt and denim shorts outfit, which allows the bright shoes to stand out.
To the right, I've chosen several pairs that I have my eyes on this summer in a variety of price points. H&M, Old Navy, Gap, Forever 21, and J.Crew Factory are the stores I tend to find my favorite sandals in. With lots of different options, you're sure to find something that will fit your life, wallet, and closet.
Now, if only I could figure out how to get all of these into my house without my husband noticing ...
Where do you shop for summer sandals? Do you have great stores that I should check out?

Sarah Stright-Hartley: Cool, daring or dressy, over-the-knee boots worth a try
One of the biggest fall/winter trends — and one of my favorites — is over-the-knee boots. Depending on how you wear them, they can look extremely cool and also classy. Surprised?
Sarah Stright-Hartley: Here’s a little family dressing help for Turkey Day
Last week, we talked about what the ladies could wear for Thanksgiving to be cute and comfortable. But what if you want to make it a family affair?
Sarah Stright-Hartley: How to be cute — and comfortable — for Thanksgiving
My favorite holiday is right around the corner — Thanksgiving. I love this holiday for many reasons, but mainly because it revolves around food, and being thankful for your life, but mostly FOOD!
Sarah Stright-Hartley: Little black dress a big hit for the holidays
With the holidays quickly approaching (seriously, how is it mid-November already??), one thing women start looking for is the perfect little black dress to wear to all of the gatherings.
Sarah Stright-Hartley: Some scarf ideas to wrap your head around
I love wearing scarves. Not only do they keep me warm without having to wear a lot of layers, but they add an interesting visual element to my outfit.
Sarah Stright-Hartley: Sweatshirts an easy way to stay warm, stylish
The fashion gods have decided to throw us all a bone this fall and winter. They've decided that sweatshirts are style appropriate, when embellished.
Sarah Stright-Hartley: In my winter coat wonderland, ‘S’ stands for super
I hate to be the one to say this, but it's getting colder. So cold that over the weekend I actually said the words "I think I'm going to have to buy a winter coat soon.” So cold that I noticed the weather man saying the "S" word while describing the upcoming forecast.
Sarah Stright-Hartley: Even in fall, take your skirts to the max
Maxi skirts seemed to be a summer staple the past few years. But have you considered wearing them in the fall as well? Granted, when there is a foot of snow on the ground, they may not be the best choice.
Sarah Stright-Hartley: Wearing maternity clothing doesn’t mean giving up style
I started wearing maternity clothes fairly early, before most people knew I was pregnant and before I was really showing. I could've gotten another month out of my non-maternity clothing but the clothes (pants, mostly) pushing into my growing belly made me insanely uncomfortable.
Sarah Stright-Hartley: If I were rich, here’s what I would wear to work
Sometimes I like to think about what I'd wear to work if I had unlimited funds, so I’ve put together what those "dream" outfits might look like (to the right).
