NEW CASTLE —
The time to relax on the beach, sun yourself and attend many barbecues. And also the time to free your feet from the confines of the past several months being bundled up in boots and closed-toe shoes.
Each summer I like to look for a new pair or two of summer sandals that I can add to my closet — sandals that can be worn daily and with just about anything I own.
I tend to search for pairs that are lightweight, easy to slip on and off, and are in classic, neutral colors. I also search for pairs that can be dressed up or down — that I can throw on for a trip to the beach, but can also be dressed up for a summer wedding.
But then every once in awhile a brightly patterned shoe jumps out at me and I just can't help myself. These shoes I tend to reserve for neutral looks like a T-shirt and denim shorts outfit, which allows the bright shoes to stand out.
To the right, I've chosen several pairs that I have my eyes on this summer in a variety of price points. H&M, Old Navy, Gap, Forever 21, and J.Crew Factory are the stores I tend to find my favorite sandals in. With lots of different options, you're sure to find something that will fit your life, wallet, and closet.
Now, if only I could figure out how to get all of these into my house without my husband noticing ...
Where do you shop for summer sandals? Do you have great stores that I should check out?

Sarah Stright-Hartley: I’ve had my baby — and it’s a boy!
At last, the time has come where my husband and I got to meet our new baby! On Feb. 9, we welcomed our first child, a little boy named Henry, into the world and we couldn't be more ecstatic.
Sarah Stright-Hartley: More stores offer big options for the little ones
With Baby H due any day, I've been spending a lot of time looking at baby clothing. My husband and I don't know what we're having, so I've gotten the chance to let my mind wander and determine just what my baby boy OR baby girl will wear.
Sarah Stright-Hartley: Interior design can bring style inspiration
In the past, I've mentioned how one of my favorite ways to find inspiration when I may be lacking it is through interior design. Looking at perfectly styled rooms can often give a fresh view on a way to mix textures and colors that you may not have thought of before.

It's gotten to be the time of winter where I'm just hoping for a little break in temperatures so that I don't have to bundle up every time I want to step outside.
Sarah Stright-Hartley: Who sparkled at the Golden Globes? Here are my picks
It's award season again, which is basically playoff time for those of us who love fashion and are looking forward to the "Super Bowl" of them all — the Oscars.
Sarah Stright-Hartley: Options for "normal" men help make clothing choices easier
In a recent conversation with my brother, he told me that he didn't think "normal" (non-model) men are really sure how to dress for every day. That while they can look at models for inspiration, those outfits aren't something that are appropriate for most men. So he suggested I spend one of my posts here addressing some common clothing problems that men seem to wear and what to wear instead. If you look to the right, I've put together a simple "wear this, not that" guide for a few things I've seen men wear.
Sarah Stright-Hartley: ‘Matching but not matchy’ — that’s the look you want
It's the time of year for family holiday cards and I was recently asked by a friend how to pull off the "matching but not matchy" look.
Sarah Stright-Hartley: Here are my 12 ‘pregnancy staples’
I'm closing in on being seven and a half months pregnant — which I kind of can't believe. The last few months have FLOWN by and with the holidays, these last couple months are also rushing by me at a mind-boggling speed.
Sarah Stright-Hartley: Cool, daring or dressy, over-the-knee boots worth a try
One of the biggest fall/winter trends — and one of my favorites — is over-the-knee boots. Depending on how you wear them, they can look extremely cool and also classy. Surprised?
Sarah Stright-Hartley: Here’s a little family dressing help for Turkey Day
Last week, we talked about what the ladies could wear for Thanksgiving to be cute and comfortable. But what if you want to make it a family affair?
