College Baseball: Former Union standout goes 7 for 7

NEW CASTLE — Union High graduate Jason Burkes was a hitting machine for the Pitt-Bradford baseball team in its season finale.

Burkes went 7 for 7 in the Panthers 15-10 victory over Houghton.

Six of Burkes’ seven hits were singles with a double added in. He also stole three bases and led the team with four runs.

As a team, Pitt-Bradford collected a season-high 23 hits in the contest.

Burkes is a senior outfielder for the Panthers and a health and physical education major.
