Fall Sports Report A roundup of action from Aug. 30

NEW CASTLE — Collin Duffy paced a balanced Wilmington High boys golf team yesterday.

Duffy fired a 36, lifting the Greyhounds to a 197-226 nonregion win over Summit Academy at Serene Valley Golf Course.

Shane McQuiston was next with a 38 for Wilmington (3-3) and Matt Zimmer added a 39. Josh Bonnici carded a 40 and Corri Quinn followed with a 44.

Neshannock wins


The Lady Lancers cruised to a 4-1 WPIAL Section 2-AA victory over New Brighton at Brady’s Run Park.

Meg Johntony (No. 2) and Brittany Moses (No. 3) recorded singles wins for Neshannock (3-0 section, 3-0 overall). The doubles tandems of Maria Acosta/Cecelia Weingart (No. 1) and Arti Anna Ribarevski/Erin Warvell (No. 2) also captured wins.

1. Madison Jones/Aleesha Berkley (N) won 6-0, 6-0.

Lady ’Hounds roll

Wilmington breezed to a 5-0 District 10, Region 1-AA win over Franklin.

Katie Chase (No. 1), Lauren Barber (No. 2) and Alanna Elliott (No. 3) notched singles wins for Wilmington (3-2, 3-2).

The doubles tandems of Rebeccah Swerdlow/Lydea Kraynak (No. 1) and Nikki McCown/Alexis Donati (No. 2) also scored victories.
