NEW CASTLE — Spartans roll

New Castle loses

The visiting Lady ’Canes dropped an 86-54 decision to Hopewell despite Caitlin Adamo posting four victories.

Adamo secured wins in the 800, 1600, 1600 relay and 3200 relay.

Lady Scots fall

Christina Noble erased a 37-year-old school record in the javelin, but it wasn’t enough as visiting Union lost 112-32 to Riverside.

Noble threw the javelin 126-4 to eclipse the old record of 121-7, which was set in 1977.

“I wasn’t up there when she set it, but once she saw us, she started running towards us,” Union coach Drue Flora said. “She was yelling that she broke the record. It was a surreal moment. It’s what she’s been pushing for since last year. It was an awesome moment between her and the four coaches. She’s been close. She was short by three feet in our first meet of the season. She actually broke it twice today.”

The results of the meet weren’t provided.

Mohawk rolls

Maria Fleck registered three wins to lead the Lady Warriors to a 117-32 home win over Neshannock.

Fleck won the 100 hurdles, 300 hurdles and was a member on the victorious 400 relay.

Annalisa Frengel (shot put, discus) picked up two of the Lady Lancers’ four victories.

Laurel cruises

The Lady Spartans breezed to a 117-33 road decision over Ellwood City.

Jessica Conrad (300 hurdles, 1600 relay, long jump) won three events to pace Laurel.

Brook Muntean won two events (100, 200) to lead the Lady Wolverines.
