College Football: Christofferson to play in front of pro scouts

NEW CASTLE — Sean Christofferson will get his chance to impress some pro scouts next month.

The Westminster College senior defensive lineman and former Wilmington High standout was among five Titans players selected to compete in the D3 Senior Classic Scout Bowl on Dec. 13 in Salem, Va.

Christofferson will be joined by teammates Dak Britt, Aaron Nauer, Collin Wallace and Dave Wright at the three-day showcase for Division III football players. Representatives from multiple professional leagues including the NFL, UFL, CFL and arena leagues will be in attendance. European professional scouts will also be on hand.

Christofferson was the first Titans defender to earn first-team All-Presidents’ Athletic Conference status since Ryan Chmura in 2005 by finishing second in the conference with 8.5 sacks and 15 tackles for loss — both team-highs.

Britt led Westminster in rushing with 883 yards and six touchdowns, while throwing for 2,333 yards and 11 scores on 186 of 342 passing.

Wallace hauled in 67 passes for a Titans-record 1,076 yards and seven scores. He finished his collegiate career with school records in career yards (2,238), career receptions (150) and most receptions in a season (67).

Wright caught 20 passes for 289 yards and two touchdowns.

Nauer recorded 28 total tackles and 2.5 sacks in just five games, while blocking a kick. He also posted a pair of quarterback hurries.
