NEW CASTLE — It won’t take long for the Neshannock and Mohawk girls soccer teams to get started in the WPIAL playoffs.

The Section 1-A champion Lady Lancers (11-2-3) will open the postseason against Section 3 fourth-place finisher Carlynton (8-7-2) at 2 p.m. Saturday at Central Valley High School.

Meanwhile, the Lady Warriors (9-9) will play Section 4-A fourth-place finisher Riverview (7-10) in a pigtail game at 4 p.m. Saturday at Fox Chapel High School for the right to face Section 4 champion Greensburg Central Catholic (14-1) in the first round at 6 p.m. Monday at Norwin High School.

The winner of that matchup will face the Charleroi-Springdale winner in the quarterfinals.
