Fall Sports: A roundup of action from October 3


HERMITAGE — Mohawk rolls

Samantha Carr delivered seven kills and nine digs to lead the Lady Warriors to a 25-18, 26-24, 25-17 home victory over New Castle in WPIAL Section 1-AA action.

Malea Tress handed out 16 assists for Mohawk (3-6, 5-7), while Maria Fleck tallied nine kills and three aces.

The Lady Warriors also won the JV contest, 25-18, 25-14.

Victoria Pezzuolo led the way with four aces and three assists, while Ashley McConnell had three aces and three kills.

Ellwood City falls

The Lady Wolverines dropped a 25-19, 25-11, 28-26 Section 1-AA decision to visiting Beaver.

Amber Leech led Ellwood City (2-6, 4-6) with 14 digs and six assists, while Allie McKelvey contributed four blocks and four kills.

The Lady Wolverines also lost 25-14, 25-20 in JV action.

Boys soccer

Neshannock falls

The Lancers fell to WPIAL Section 5-A foe Quigley Catholic, 2-0.
