The Lady Wildcats scored six first-inning runs and never looked back in the Section 4-A home victory.
Shenango (3-0, 3-1) plated eight more runs in the second and invoked the mercy rule in the third inning with a single run.
“I thought it was a good continuation of Rochester game,” Lady Wildcats coach Amy Delaney said of her team’s 19-0 win over the Lady Rams on Tuesday. “We were doing the little things that you can’t simulate in practice and were able to work on some things in a game situation.”
Macy Rubin (3-1) notched the no-hitter for the Lady ’Cats, striking out two and walking one.
“She’s pitched well last two days,” Delaney said. “She only threw 30 pitches today. She got to work on her pitches and mechanics. She did a good job of keeping the ball down in the zone and mixing up her pitches.”
Hana Murphy paced the Shenango offense with a single, a triple and three RBIs, while Alyssa White singled, doubled and drove in a pair of runs. Alexa Owrey had RBI singles in her two at bats.
Seven different Shenango batters had at least one RBI.
“It’s nice that the bats have really come alive these last two days,” Delaney said. “We’re starting to see what the girls are capable of doing at the plate.”
