Spring Sports: A roundup of action from April 8

NEW CASTLE — Spartans roll

Jacob Wilson posted wins in four events to lead Laurel to a 109-30 win over visiting Neshannock.

Wilson registered victories in the 400 relay, javelin, long jump and triple jump.

Rocco Fazio paced the Lancers with victories in the 100 and 200.

Greyhounds cruise

Jared Masters and Dwight Scott each won three events to lift Wilmington to a 95-55 win over visiting Reynolds.

Masters topped the 800, 1600 and the 3200 relay, while Scott won the 200, 300 hurdles and 400 relay.

Girls track

New Castle wins tiebreaker


The Lady ’Canes and Central Valley tied with 75 points each, but New Castle earned the win on the second tiebreaker of second-place finishes.

Each team had nine first-place finishes for the first tiebreaker.

Caitlin Adamo (800, 1600, 1600 relay, 3200 relay) paced New Castle with four wins.

Lady Scots fall short

Abbey Kerr, Taryn Razo and Christina Noble notched two wins each for Union in a 69 1/2-57 1/2 home loss to Beaver Falls.

Kerr won the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles, Razo recorded triumphs in the shot put and discus, while Noble notched verdicts in the javelin and triple jump.

Mohawk prevails

Courtney Clark and Maria Fleck won three events apiece to lift the Lady Warriors to an 80 1/2-69 1/2 road win over Riverside.

Clark captured the 800, 1600 relay and 3200 relay, while Fleck won the 100 hurdles, 300 hurdles and the 1600 relay.

Shenango rolls

Freshman Miranda Schry tied the school record in the high jump and added three other victories to pace the host Lady Wildcats to a 119-31 win over Ellwood City.

Schry cleared 5-2 in the high jump to tie Alyssa Allwine and Shannon Lough, while topping the triple jump, long jump and 400 relay events.

Brooke Muntean led the Lady Wolverines with wins in the 100 and 200.

Laurel cruises

Jessica Conrad and Hailey Tammaro won three events apiece to pace the host Lady Spartans to a 109-30 triumph over Neshannock.

Conrad topped the 300 hurdles, the 1600 relay and the 3200 relay, while Tammaro was on the 400 relay, the 1600 relay and the 3200 relay.

Double winners Anna Frengel (shot put, discus) and Gianna Serignese (long jump, triple jump) paved the way for the Lady Lancers.

Lady ’Hounds win big

Hannah Drake secured four wins as host Wilmington cruised to a 116-28 victory over Reynolds.

Drake won the long jump, triple jump, 1600 relay and 3200 relay.
