Game commission meeting set for Franklin

NEW CASTLE — This year’s final meeting of the Pennsylvania Game Commission Board of Commissioners will be held Monday and Tuesday in Franklin.

“Each year, the board president is given the option to move the September meeting to his district. I wanted to use this opportunity to celebrate the recent completion of our newly constructed regional office located just south of Franklin,” said board president and New Castle resident Ralph Martone. “This state of the art facility will serve the northwest region for many years to come.”

The meeting will be held at the Quality In and Conference Center, located a 1411 Liberty Street. The board will take public comments beginning at 8:30 a.m. followed by staff reports.

On Tuesday, the board will take up its prepared agenda. The agenda can be found on the Pennsylvania Game Commission’s website.

“Holding the board’s official meeting in Franklin is an excellent opportunity for local sportsmen and women to address the Board on issues of importance,” Martone said. “This meeting also offers a chance to discuss various topics with the entire Board of Commissioners, Harrisburg staff and regional staff. This is a unique opportunity to see how the agency operates and as well as hear reports from staff on subjects of interest to all hunters.”
