Shenango education foundation to meet

NEW CASTLE — The first meeting of the Shenango Community Education Foundation will be Wednesday.

The session will begin at 7 p.m. in the Shenango High School library. The purpose of this meeting is to establish officers among the inaugural board of directors, along with adopting by-laws and other founding documents.

The group’s intention is to establish an independent, non-profit community organization, whose mission is to advance educational opportunities for all students of the Shenango Area School District both now and for future generations.

One of the foundation’s goals is an endowment fund to which community members, friends, alumni and businesses can make donations for the purpose of providing educational opportunities above and beyond district budgetary means.

The foundation’s meetings are open to the public.

Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 fell from the sky in Donetsk, Ukraine, on Thursday, killing all 298 people aboard. Many are speculating that Russian rebels (supported by Vladimir Putin) are responsible for downing the aircraft. What do you think?

Yes. All evidence points that way.
No. Everyone is so quick to point fingers, but there's not enough evidence to support claims of Russian guilt.
I'm not sure. I'll just wait until the investigation is over to make up my mind.
What is up with these Malaysian Airlines planes? I know one airline I won't be flying any time soon...
