Shenango education foundation to meet

NEW CASTLE — The Shenango Community Education Foundation board will meet Wednesday at Shenango High School’s library.

The 7 p.m. meeting is open to the public and members of the community who are interested in supporting the efforts of the foundation are encouraged to attend.

The foundation is a community-based non-profit organization whose mission is to raise funds to advance educational opportunities for students in the Shenango Area School District through scholarships, classroom grants and other innovative educational initiatives.

At Wednesday’s meeting, the board will discuss the foundation’s association with the Sharon-based Community Foundation of Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio, the formation of committees, planning of fundraising events.
