The Shenango Area School Board has revised a leave for an English teacher.
The family medical leave for Rachel Guy has been revised and will be from Dec. 12 through March 9. She will be on unpaid childcare leave from March 12 through May 11.
Antoinette Fox, a custodian, was granted a family medical leave beginning Jan. 17, with an end date to be determined by her doctor, but not to exceed 12 weeks.
The board also approved the resignation of Suzanne Stewart as a teacher’s aide, effective Dec. 12.

Shenango class of ’72 sets reunion
Shenango High School’s class of 1972 will have its 40th anniversary reunion July 7. The gathering will run from 6 to 11 p.m. at the Villa Banquet Center. The cost is $44 per person if paid before June 2. After that, the cost is $50.

Shenango officials accept pay freeze
Administrators in the Shenango school district have accepted a wage freeze for the 2012-13 year. Dr. Michael Schreck, acting superintendent, said the freeze affects high school principal Joe McCormick, assistant principal Dan Mayer, director of special education Christine Moon, elementary principal Adam Vincent and technology director Rob Heath.

Shenango board adopts vo-tech budget
The Shenango Area School Board has adopted the Lawrence County Career and Technical Center’s budget. The vo-tech school’s budget for the 2012-13 fiscal year is $7,084,421.

Shenango to hold makeup kindergarten registration
Shenango will have a make-up day for students who need to register for kindergarten for next year. The registration day will be May 10.

Shenango teachers, board OK new contract
Shenango’s teachers will receive pay increases averaging 1.24 percent over the life of a new contract. The Shenango Area Education Association, which represents the teachers, accepted the four-year agreement April 4 and the school board followed suit April 9, approving it unanimously.

Former Shenango superintendent given severance pay
Former Shenango schools superintendent Eugene M. Thomas has received a $50,000 final severance payment from the district. The payment was made Tuesday through a voluntary separation agreement and release entered into by Thomas and the district last Friday.

Shenango OKs teachers pact
The Shenango school board has approved a four-year contract with the Shenango Area Education Association. The agreement, approved by a unanimous vote, takes effect Sept. 1 and runs through Aug. 31, 2016.
