Schreck reappointed Shenango superintendent

NEW CASTLE — Dr. Michael Schreck has been reappointed as Shenango’s superintendent for a five-year term.

The school board approved his reappointment by an 8-0 vote Monday. Nicholas Manolis was absent.

Schreck, who was appointed to the position in 2012, will receive a salary of $118,000 in the first year, which begins July 1. He will receive pay increases of 3 percent every year thereafter.

His current salary is $110,317.

“I’m honored to be able to continue to be part of the Shenango school system,” Schreck said. “I appreciate the confidence they have in me and the direction the district is moving in.”

Schreck has been with the district for about 19 years, as a teacher and in various administrative capacities.
