Shenango to hold makeup kindergarten registration

NEW CASTLE — Shenango will have a make-up day for students who need to register for kindergarten for next year.

The registration day will be May 10.

To receive a registration packet, parents must call the school before April 27. The packets will be mailed to the homes.

In order to be eligible for kindergarten in the 2012-13 school year, a child must be 5 years old by Sept. 1.

Parents must provide the child’s birth certificate, immunization record and three proofs of residency before registration day.

To have packets mailed or to obtain more information, call (724) 658-5566 between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. weekdays.

    The Shenango High baseball team hit a home run with kids at Children’s Hospital. Led by Tyler Booher and Anthony Prestopine, the Wildcats spent the last two months conducting a toy drive to benefit the young patients of the Pittsburgh facility. They ended up with about 200 items.
