NEW CASTLE —
The Shenango school board has approved a four-year contract with the Shenango Area Education Association.
The agreement, approved by a unanimous vote, takes effect Sept. 1 and runs through Aug. 31, 2016.
Board president Albert Burick said at Monday’s board meeting that the first year of the contract calls for a pay freeze with “very minimal increases after that.”
The current five-year contract expires Aug. 31.
The New Castle News requested a copy of the collective bargaining agreement but had not received it by press time Wednesday.
