At its meeting Feb. 8, the Mohawk school board:
•Hired Carrie Tomon as a long-term kindergarten substitute teacher during a maternity leave.
•Hired Cheri Gordon as a cafeteria employee.
•Approved the expulsion of a male student at the recommendation of a board committee, following a hearing. Superintendent Dr. Timothy F. McNamee would not comment further on the matter because of privacy laws.
•Accepted the resignation of Anne Kephart, adviser of the “Busted” program, effective immediately.
•Accepted the resignation of Patty Fletcher as Arrow adviser, effective at the end of the school year.
•Accepted the resignation of Chris Lorello as a cafeteria employee, effective Feb. 11.
•Granted the Mohawk Midget Football Association permission to use the high school football facilities for the 2010 season.
•Gave permission to Kayla McAnlis of New Castle to attend Mohawk this school year so she can participate in the vocational agriculture program.
