NEW CASTLE — The Pulaski Police Association is accepting essays from township students interested in careers in law enforcement or criminal justice.

The association is offering a scholarship through the activity.

An essay must consist of three to five pages, typed, describing why the student wants to attend a school in the criminal justice field.

Proof of enrollment into a school must be attached showing a major in criminal justice or enrollment into an ACT 120 program (police academy).

A letter of reference from a former or current teacher and high school or current college transcript must be attached as well.

The police association will pay the school a $500 scholarship toward the tuition of the student selected.

Any township resident who has graduated from high school and is enrolled into a school may submit an essay.
