NEW CASTLE — State Rep. Jaret Gibbons has been appointed to the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency.

He replaces Rep. Dan Frankel of Pittsburgh on the 19-member board of directors.

“I am truly honored to have been selected to serve on PHEAA,” Gibbons said. “PHEAA is one of the nation’s leading student aid organizations, and I will do my best to continue helping make higher education more accessible to Pennsylvania’s students.”

Created by the General Assembly in 1963, PHEAA has evolved into a national provider of student financial aid services, offering loan guaranty, loan servicing, financial aid processing and outreach programs.

“I’m proud to be able to help today’s students achieve the education they both want and deserve to be able to compete in our modern job market,” Gibbons said.
