Positions of chairman and vice-chairman were filled during last month's Lawrence County Area Vocational Technical School Board meeting.
Alan Carlson was nominated and approved for chairman. William Taylor was appointed vice-chairman. Both men were the only nominees for the positions and were approved by 6-0 votes.
Carlson has previously served as chairman and vice-chairman for the board.
In other board business:
*Meeting dates were approved for 2006, on the third Thursday of each month with a work session at 7 p.m. followed by the regular meeting at 7:30.
*Cindy M. Petrella, 100 Meadow Drive, Beaver Falls, was hired as a part-time nursing instructor, effective immediately at $21 per hour.
*Members received handouts of the first draft of three polices from the Pennsylvania School Board Association for review.
