A West Side man is in jail after police allegedly found suspected marijuana in his apartment. New Castle police arrested Robert Lee Gordon Jr., 39, of Apt. 601, McGrath Manor, at his home after executing a sealed search warrant there Wednesday.
Police seek man in car-truck crash
New Castle police are seeking information about an accident in which a truck hit a car on Highland Avenue Thursday afternoon.

An Edinburg man allegedly caught with drugs in his car earlier this month now faces firearm charges as well. Shenango Township police have re-arrested Mark Anthony Ortiz, 28, of 2678 Benjamin Franklin Highway after they conducted a search of his car following an April 1 traffic stop.
Man jailed for knife threats
A New Castle resident has been arrested for allegedly pulling a knife on two people. Union Township police charged Harry Boatner Jr., 64, of Skyview Towers in connection with Thursday’s incident.

Bessemer resident injured in crash
Jerry L. Browning of Bessemer was listed in good condition Thursday at a Pittsburgh hospital following an accident. Browning was taken by helicopter to Presbyterian Hospital following a one-car crash on Mohawk School Road about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. The accident was in front of the Mohawk schools complex.
Shots fired following argument
New Castle police are seeking information about the person who fired shots at a man at Crestview Gardens Thursday. No injuries were reported.
Shenango Township police warn of telephone scams
Shenango Township police said they have received multiple reports of an ongoing scam. According to officers, residence are receiving calls purporting to be from a relative in a legal or financial crisis. Police noted this is often referred to as the “grandparent scam.”
