On the Record: Today's police items, district judge reports, and sentences



•Theft. A red work van with aluminum ladders and a sheet metal brake on the roof was taken from a home in the 600 block of Highland Avenue Wednesday. Also stolen were miscellaneous hand and power tools.

•Criminal mischief. A woman in the 800 block of Morton Street discovered Wednesday that the rear passenger side window of her auto had been smashed out overnight.


•Theft. A miniature garden was taken from outside the Volant Miniature Shop and miscellaneous lawn decorations were taken from outside Purple Paisley, both on Main Street in Volant. Both incidents occurred June 14.

District judges

New Castle police charged the following people:

•Harry Boatner, 64, of New Castle, aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest and harassment.

•Brandy Lynn Bartley, 35, of New Castle, promoting prostitution.

•Harry Anthony Mooney, 83, of New Castle, patronizing prostitutes.

•Derry Raymond Newton Jr., 40, of New Castle, two counts of driving under the influence and one count each of possession of marijuana, use/possession of drug paraphernalia and turning movements and required signals violation.

•Wayne A. Jentgens II, 49, of New Castle, access device fraud.

•Angela Renee Kirkland, 45, of New Castle, public drunkenness and similar misconduct.

New Castle police charged the following people:

•Duane Germaine Evans, 31, of New Castle, fleeing or attempting to elude officer, flight to avoid apprehension, trial or punishment, reckless driving, careless driving and driving with license suspended.

•Elisah Watson, 21, of Greensburg, arrest prior to requisition.

Mahoning Township police charged the following people:

•Elizabeth S. Krutskikh, 29, of Delta Junction, Kan., six counts of simple assault, five counts of aggravated assault and four counts each of recklessly endangering another person and endangering the welfare of children.

•Robert E. Tyler, 31, of Edinburg, two counts of simple assault and one count of aggravated assault.

•Jesse Paul Myers, 31, of New Castle, charged by Shenango Township police with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.

Scott A. McGrath

•William Lamont Lewis, 36, of Pittsburgh, charged by state police with driving under the influence, driving while blood alcohol level is .02 or greater with license suspended and careless driving.
