NEW CASTLE —
Authorities are seeking a New Castle man who is facing multiple drug charges.
A warrant for James Clayton “Lima” Brest, 39, of 740 Chestnut St. has been issued through the office of District Judge Melissa Amodie.
He faces three counts of possession of a controlled substance, two counts of possession with intent to deliver and two counts of criminal use of a communications facility.
The Lawrence County district attorney’s office filed the charges against Brest this week. They stem from incidents in March and October.
According to the criminal complaint, a confidential informant was used to make contact with Brest in March via a cellphone call. They agreed to meet at an East Side business where, agents said, the informant spoke with Brest, who provided the informant with four pills (identified as Roxycodone) in exchange for $120.
The complaint also described a similar incident later in March, in which an informant allegedly purchased 10 tablets from Brest for $300 while at an East Side home.
In addition, the complaint outlined an incident in October in which a narcotics agent contacted Brest, searched him and said 10 pills were found on him.
The complaint gave no explanation as to the delay in filing the charges.
