Mother charged when 2-year-old found wandering

NEW CASTLE — State police have charged a North Beaver Township woman whose diapered toddler was found wandering alone in a field.

Police say Krystal Marie Rocco, 24, of 305 North Blvd., North Beaver Township apparently was sleeping and did not answer the phone while her two children were away from their home and neighbors were trying to call her  during the daytime on Aug. 20.

They had found Rocco’s 2-year-old wearing only a diaper and T-shirt, according to police.

Officers said Rocco’s 5-year-old son was with a neighbor girl in the mobile home park where they lived, and they ended up at the girl’s mother’s house. The mother saw the 2-year-old girl walking toward her house around 11:30 a.m. and instructed the 5-year-old to take her home.

He returned to the neighbor’s home about 1 1/2 hours later, she tried to call his mother but her phone was not in service. Around 2 p.m., another neighbor saw the 2-year-old walking alone through a field.

She went to Rocco’s mobile home and found the door open and yelled inside. When Rocco did not answer she went to the neighbor’s and called the police.

Rocco is charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of children and was sent a summons to appear in court.

Milwaukee catcher Martin Maldonado has been suspended five games for sucker punching Pittsburgh’s Travis Snider during a bench clearing brawl on Sunday. You OK with that suspension?

Yes. Seems fair.
No. Baseball NEVER gets it right in these situations. Should have been at least 20 games for his sucker punch into a pile of players.
Not sure, but I’d love to see baseball be like hockey and allow two guys to fight for a while before breaking it up. Let’s see how tough Maldonado is then.
