•Accident. Police said Justin C. Warren, 21, of New Castle, southbound on Brewster Road at 6 a.m. Aug. 2, left the road to avoid several deer crossing. Police said the car entered a ditch and struck a utility pole, resulting in minor injury to the driver. He was cited for driving at an unsafe speed. Police note the accident took place on a foggy morning which resulted in low visibility and the driver could not see the deer.
•Accident. Police said Natasha L. Rogers, 22, of Ellwood City, eastbound on Route 488 in Perry Township at an apparent high speed about 4:10 a.m. July 16, left the road striking a tree and utility pole then rolled onto its roof. Police said Rogers was treated at Ellwood City Hospital for minor injury and charges are pending.
•Cited. Marshall Reitnauer, 43, of 310 Boyles Ave., was cited for trespass after police were called to Katherine Street at 11 a.m. Aug. 8. A neighbor reported a man with facial hair wearing black clothing and with a black cloth on his head was trying to break into the back of a house. City police were assisted by the New Wilmington police department and the Lawrence County Sheriff’s office.

•James Calvin Smith, 49, of Pulaski, charged by Pulaski Township police with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness and similar misconduct.
•Alvin Duane Kern, 47, of West Middlesex, charged by state police with rape of child, statutory sexual assault, incest and indecent assault on a person less than 13 years old.
Neshannock Township police charged the following people:
•Joseph Thomas Onufrak, 27, of New Castle, driving under the influence, disregarding traffic lane and failure to obey traffic control devices.
•Cody A. Depaolo, 20, of Wampum, driving under the influence, not yielding at roadway, minor prohibited operating with alcohol, driving with registration suspended and purchase of an alcoholic beverage by a minor.
•Edward Mark Palmer, 49, of Edinburg, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, driving without a license, unauthorized use of a motor or other vehicle, driving with license suspended and improper display of license plate.
•Marshall Paul Reitnauer, 43, of New Castle, criminal trespass.
•Robert David Leasure Jr., 55, of New Castle, two counts of disorderly conduct and one count of defiant trespass.

New Castle firefighters responded Tuesday morning to a burning coil cover at Hill Railroad Car Co. in Mahoningtown.

Five injured in school bus crash
Four students and a driver sustained minor injuries in a three-vehicle crash Tuesday morning. According to state police, a line of vehicles was westbound on snow-covered Route 108/Harlansburg Road at 7:50 a.m. when Shannon C. McAnney, 21, of Gibsonia, the second car in the line, lost control of her vehicle.
Ray Street man charged in burglary
An East Side man has been arrested in connection with a Scott Street burglary. Mark Anthony Magusiak Jr., 23, of 613 S. Ray St., was charged with burglary and attempted theft. He is in the Lawrence County jail in lieu of $50,000 bond.
New Castle man jailed in drug case
A New Castle man facing 11 drug-related charges is being held on $25,000 bond. The charges against Theodore Trent McHenry, 20, of 919 Beckford St. followed a raid at his home last week.
City man charged with making threats
A New Castle man is facing charges that he threatened to harm a woman. City police arrested John A. Adamo, 34, of 211 E. Leasure Ave. after he allegedly tried to kick in the door of another Leasure Avenue home and threatened a woman inside Wednesday evening.
Drunk driving suspect tied to double fatal
A man charged with drunk driving in New Wilmington was the driver in a 2009 double-fatality crash. New Wilmington police said they learned Austin J. Ewers, 20, has a record that includes homicide by vehicle after they arrested him in the borough Nov. 24.
Second body this week found at Moraine
The body of a New Castle man was found at Moraine State Park. Jake Weiland, assistant park manager, said someone who had been boating and fishing from a kayak on Lake Arthur saw something on the shore at 10:30 a.m. Thursday and contacted park officials.

Council OKs agreement with DA’s office
New Castle City Council has approved an agreement that details city narcotics officers to the Lawrence County district attorney’s office.
