Silo fire called suspicious

NEW CASTLE — Two departments extinguished a Pulaski Township silo fire in about 20 minutes Wednesday afternoon.

Chief Guy Morse of the Pulaski Volunteer Fire Department said the blaze began in an abandoned silo at the McConahy farm on Pine Glen Road. The fire began spreading to the grass, he said, but was put out before it could damage a cornfield 80 feet away.

Morse said tires and insulation from wires were stored in the silo, causing thick black smoke.

No injuries were reported.

Morse said the fire’s origin is suspicious.

Pulaski was assisted by Mahoning Township volunteer firefighters. A total of 19 firefighters responded with four engines, two tankers and a brush truck.

It’s been a unique week on the marriage front. Actress Jodie Foster married her longtime girlfriend, while a lesbian trio that wed last year, who bill themselves as a “throuple,” have announced they are expecting. What’s your take on alternative unions?

I’m against it. I believe in one man, one woman.
I’m OK with it. As long as they’re adults, they can marry whoever they want.
A lesbian “throuple?” Really? SMH.
