Rash of burglaries in Union

NEW CASTLE — Union Township police urge residents to lock their doors due to a recent rash of burglaries.

Police, investigating numerous recent burglaries in the township, said televisions, computers, jewelry, cash, tools and copper pipe and wire have been reported taken from several unlocked houses, vehicles, sheds and garages.

Lt. Mark Julian said most of the recent thefts occurred in the past two months.

In addition to locking doors of their homes, vehicles and out buildings, officers ask residents to contact them if someone or something appears to be suspicious.

Police can be contacted by calling (724) 652-5203 or 911.
