Man hurt in motorcycle crash

NEW CASTLE — A motorcyclist was flown to a Youngstown hospital yesterday after being thrown from his bike in a three-vehicle crash.

The accident took place at 2:53 p.m. on Route 422 at the intersection of Harbor-Edinburg Road.

According to Union Township police, James R. Mohr II, 54, had a green light and was crossing the intersection from Harbor-Edinburg Road to Pulaski Road in a Jeep Cherokee, which was pulling a utility trailer. Police said James R. Hasely, 46, was traveling on Route 422 when his motorcycle collided with the rear of Mohr’s vehicle, becoming wedged between the SUV and the trailer.

Hasely, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from the bike.

Mohr’s Jeep then continued on and struck the driver’s side of a vehicle operated by 64-year-old Nancy J. Blaskewicz, who was attempting to cross the intersection from Pulaski Road to Harbor-Edinburg Road.

Neither Mohr nor Blaskewicz were injured, police said, but Hasely was flown to St. Elizabeth Health Center with what appeared to be a severe head injury.

The Union Township fire department and Medevac Ambulance also responded to the scene

It’s been a unique week on the marriage front. Actress Jodie Foster married her longtime girlfriend, while a lesbian trio that wed last year, who bill themselves as a “throuple,” have announced they are expecting. What’s your take on alternative unions?

I’m against it. I believe in one man, one woman.
I’m OK with it. As long as they’re adults, they can marry whoever they want.
A lesbian “throuple?” Really? SMH.
