Pit bulls found during East Side drug raid

NEW CASTLE — Narcotics agents found nine pit bulls in a house they raided for drugs Tuesday at 610 Raymond St.

A sealed search warrant was executed by members of the District Attorney’s Drug Task Force special investigative unit and the New Castle police narcotics and special entry team.

Four people who were in the house were taken into custody, including Isaac ‘Zeke’ Anderson, 27, of Detroit, who had dived through a door’s paneless window and tried to run, according to Police Chief Bobby Salem.

He said Anderson threw a bag of heroin and another bag of marijuana while he was running, and officers stopped him by shooting him in the hip with a .40-caliber sponge projectile gun.

Upon searching him they also found a bag of suspected crack cocaine in his pocket, Salem said.

Agents seized a total of 5.2 grams of heroin, 5.7 grams of crack and marijuana, all of which had been in Anderson’s possession.

Anderson was checked by ambulance personnel at the scene and he told them he was OK, the chief said.

No other drugs were found inside the house, according to Salem, but police confiscated cash and drug paraphernalia.

A male and female pit bull and seven pit bull puppies that were in the house were turned over to a family member who lives nearby.

Salem said Anderson and the homeowner, whose identity was not available Tuesday, are to face charges, but the other people were released.

Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 fell from the sky in Donetsk, Ukraine, on Thursday, killing all 298 people aboard. Many are speculating that Russian rebels (supported by Vladimir Putin) are responsible for downing the aircraft. What do you think?

Yes. All evidence points that way.
No. Everyone is so quick to point fingers, but there's not enough evidence to support claims of Russian guilt.
I'm not sure. I'll just wait until the investigation is over to make up my mind.
What is up with these Malaysian Airlines planes? I know one airline I won't be flying any time soon...
