NEW CASTLE — New Castle police say they have a suspect in an armed robbery Tuesday night at Mom’s Pizza.

A clerk at the eatery at 1700 Highland Ave. summoned police around 8 p.m., saying a man entered the shop with a gun and stole about $150.

She said the man entered through the back of the store, which was unlocked. He approached the register and told her to open it, and he placed a gun to her back and pushed it into her spine, she told officers. He then helped himself to the cash from the drawer and ran out the same door.

Charges are pending against the suspect, according to police chief Bobby Salem.
