NEW CASTLE — A Neshannock Township man is in critical condition in Youngstown after his car hit the back of a truck.

Joshua Prigorac, 27, of 1278 Chapin Road was flown from the Union Township accident scene to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown.

State police said Prigorac was driving east on Interstate 376 around 6:15 a.m. Thursday and hit the back of a Peterbilt truck and dump trailer.

The rig was driven by Mark Bush, 53, of 4520 Hillsville Road, Pulaski, who was not injured, police said, but the back of his trailer sustained major damage.

Police said Prigorac, who was driving a Pontiac G6, sustained major injuries. He was extricated from the car by Union Township volunteer firefighters and Noga Ambulance personnel.

The Union Township police, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and state police motor carrier enforcement officers also assisted at the scene.
