NEW CASTLE —
•Criminal mischief. Someone threw eggs at a house in the 200 block of West Lincoln Avenue between 9:30 a.m. Saturday and 5:40 p.m. Sunday.
•Found item. Police found a 18-speed Huffy bicycle in the 300 block of East Lincoln Avenue around 5:30 p.m. Sunday. Anyone who is missing it is asked to contact them at (724) 656-9300.
•Burglary. Jewelry and $70 were reported stolen from a house in the 1200 block of South Cascade Street between 4 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. Friday. Police said the front door frame had been broken.
•Criminal mischief. The windshield of a car was broken in the 300 block of East Garfield Avenue between 12:40 and 10 a.m. Monday. The owner found pumpkin seeds in the area of the car.
•Burglary. Someone tried to break into a house in the 500 block of Laurel Boulevard around 3:45 p.m. Oct. 2. A security alarm sounded and police found the door frame damaged.

An East Side couple are facing charges for allegedly struggling with police during their arrests on warrants.

Firefighters respond to gas leak
New Castle firefighters responded to a gas leak Friday at the former Lincoln-Garfield school on Long Avenue. Assistant Fire Chief Mike Petrone said Columbia Gas received a call from someone in the 800 block of South Mercer Street about the smell of gas Friday morning.

Woman accused of taking money
A West Middlesex woman is facing multiple theft charges for allegedly using someone else’s ATM card. The amount of money involved is nearly $1,100.
Couple accused of theft from baseball field firm
A Scott Township business involved in producing professional baseball field surfaces was the victim of an alleged employee theft. A husband and wife from Boardman, Ohio, are facing theft and related charges.
Car strikes Neshannock school bus
A New Castle woman will be cited for failing to stop in time to avoid striking a stopped school bus. Neshannock police said Mary Clause struck the Neshannock bus, which had stopped in the 1800 block of Pulaski Road about 4 p.m. Wednesday.
North Hill man faces stalking charges
A North Hill man is facing charges for allegedly stalking a neighbor who complained he has been watching her. New Castle police have charged Donald Dean Crews, 53, of 228 E. Fairmont Ave. with two counts each of stalking and harassment.
Man, 61, accused of raping girl
A Wayne Township man is lodged in the Lawrence County jail, accused of raping a 14-year-old girl. Steven Louis Haynes, 61, of 4626 Ellwood Road was charged by state police in an alleged incident that occurred in February or April of last year at his home.
