On the Record: Today's police items and district judge reports

NEW CASTLE — Police

STATE


•Accident. About 3:15 p.m. Monday on Route 18 at the intersection with Johnston Road, Wilmington Township. Police said Jack A. Poole, 77, of New Wilmington was southbound on Route 18 and turned left into the path of Jessica M. Kriegisch, 18, of Ellwood City, who was northbound. Police said Kriegisch had a minor injury. No other injuries were reported.

•Theft. A metal mailbox from the 1900 block of Orchard Road, Little Beaver Township, Monday.

NESHANNOCK TOWNSHIP

•Accident. About 2:50 p.m. June 25 on Maitland Lane. Police said Alison Caryl Friday of 391 Blackstone Drive was eastbound and attempting to turn into the 7-Eleven when an unknown driver waved her to turn. She turned into the path of a vehicle driven by Brooks Culley of 408 Hunt Road who was traveling into the turning lane, police said. No injuries were reported.

•Accident. At 11 a.m. Monday on Route 18. Police said Marissa Leigh Blakely, 200 Avalon Drive, was southbound and attempting to turn into Jameson Rehabilitation Center and turned into the path of a vehicle driven by David Alan Lynch, 227 Camp Eastbrook Drive. Lynch attempted to swerve and struck a vehicle waiting to pull out of the rehabilitation center, police said. That vehicle was driven by Carmen S. Burzachechi, 209 N. Cedar St. No injuries were reported.

•Theft. A package containing an iPhone from a porch on Evergreen Avenue between June 24 and Friday. Police said it had been delivered by FedEx June 24.

SHENANGO TOWNSHIP

•Accident. Police said Abbie Jean Hooker, 18, of 750 Orchard St. was traveling on Pennsylvania Avenue at 10:30 p.m. Sunday when she slid on the wet road while negotiating a curve. She struck a utility pole. According to police, Hooker suffered a cut to her shoulder and was taken by ambulance to Jameson Hospital. The vehicle sustained extensive damage, police said.

•Driving under the influence. Responding to a report of an erratic driver at 2 p.m. Saturday, police said they encountered Gaile Marie McCormick, 60, of 4149 Old Butler Road at a business on Route 422. Officers arrested her for driving under the influence and she was taken to Jameson Hospital for blood tests.

•Charged. Police received a report of a vehicle driving on the grass June 25 at Shenango Park on Kittery Ridge Drive. Officers said they located the vehicle nearby and charged the driver, Joshua Michael Klein, 18, of Hollow Road with disorderly conduct and trespass by motor vehicle.

NEW CASTLE

•Assault. A man told police he had been threatened with a gun and hit in the face by another man at a South Jefferson Street business Thursday night. The suspect left the scene in a vehicle, police said.

•Theft. A Garmin GPS valued at $150 was taken from a vehicle in the 700 block of Superior Street Thursday night or Friday morning.

•Theft. An electronic gate control and a steel post were taken from a business on West Grant Street June 24 or 25. The items are valued at $996.

•Theft. Someone took a water buffalo valued at $1,000 from St. Lucy Cemetery on Ninth Street between June 20 and 22.

•Theft. A Zune MP3 player, two chargers, a wallet containing credit cards and other items, a Garmin GPS and a stun gun were taken from a vehicle in the 100 block of East Leasure Avenue June 25 or Thursday. The loss was set at $419.
