STATE


•Accident. Police said a male from New Castle was southbound on Route 19 in Scott Township about 4:10 p.m. July 17 and apparently lost control of his 2003 Ford Ranger when he swerved into the west berm to get around a vehicle stopped on the road. Police said he left the road and reentered the highway, crossing the southbound lane, entered the northbound lane and struck the car of Tealor R. Martin, 20, of Volant. Police said Martin sustained minor injury and the unnamed driver sustained moderate injury. He was cited for careless driving.

•Accident. Police said Benjamin S. Eller, 24, of Zelienople, eastbound on Route 488 in Perry Township at 7 p.m. June 30, apparently became distracted, drove off the road and hit a ditch. No injuries were reported. He was cited for traffic violations.

•Burglary. Police said a known suspect entered a home on Old Hickory Road in North Beaver Township July 10 and took a wallet. The suspect was seen and chased from the home. He later returned the wallet, police said, and charges are pending.

SHENANGO TOWNSHIP

•Bad checks. Police charged Erica Norge, 24, of 401-13 Neshannock Ave. with passing a $150 check on a closed account at a township business.

•Bad checks. Police charged Thomas Perrotta, 27 of 310 N. Mercer St. with passing two checks on a closed account for $200 and $239.79 at a township business.

New Castle’s code enforcement department charged the following people:

•Beverly Barnes of New Castle, weeds, trees and ornamental shrubs violation.

•Albert Barnes of New Castle, failure to cut weeds or grass.

•Timothy O. Hall, 57, of New Castle, failure to cut weeds or grass.

•Carrie Mellot of Edinburg, gutters and downspouts violation, exterior walls violation and exterior paint violation.

•Charles Francis Collins of New Castle, failure to cut weeds or grass.

New Castle police charged the following people:

•John R. Fisher, 70, of New Castle, driving under the influence.

•Samuel John Crowley, 49, of New Castle, disorderly house.

•Zachary M. McFarland, 19, of Ellwood City, charged by Ellwood City police with criminal mischief and theft from a motor vehicle.

•Krystal Michelle Chambers, 27, of Ellwood City, charged by New Castle police with manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, intent to possess a controlled substance, defiant trespass, and two counts of use/possession of drug paraphernalia.

Union Township police charged the following people:

•Sharon Smith, 59, of New Castle, retail theft.

•Erik Anthony Lightner, 23, of West Middlesex, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.

•Dominique Williams, 22, of New Castle, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.

•Sharalea Renee Quinn, 50, of New Castle, two counts of driving under the influence and one count each of disregarding traffic lane and driving over the divider.

Neshannock Township police charged the following people:

•Ryan Michael O’Neil, 19, of New Castle, driving under the influence.

•Holly Lynn Tubbs, 40, of New Castle, defiant trespass and harassment.

•Lisa Ann Yearage, 50, of New Castle, defiant trespass and harassment.
