Vacant house burns on South Side

NEW CASTLE — A vacant South Side house burned Monday morning.

New Castle firefighters were called at 12:50 a.m. to 510 Galbreath St. They said the structure “was fully involved” when they arrived and flames could be seen on all four sides of the building.

The New Castle Police Department fire investigator was called to probe this “suspicious fire.”

Firefighters said they “let the building go. It was a total loss.”

However, they remained at the scene until 3:12 a.m., keeping an eye on surrounding properties. No injuries were reported and no damage estimate was provided.

The building was owned by New York Restoration.

Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal signed “unprecedented” legislation yesterday to expand gun rights in his state. Good idea?

Yes. Expanding the scope of where people can carry guns can help halt violent crimes and make those places safer.
No. Carrying guns into bars and schools is NEVER a good idea. I think it will lead to more violence.
Not sure, but I don’t plan to visit Georgia any time soon.
