Teen charged as adult in armed robbery

NEW CASTLE — A 17-year-old girl is accused of being an accomplice in an armed robbery at a playground.

New Castle police have charged Taylor Foley of 304 Sims St., Ellwood City, as an adult in the incident that occurred around 10:45 p.m. April 15 at the Park Avenue playground.

A warrant has been issued for Foley’s arrest.

The victim, a juvenile male, told police Foley had called him and asked him to ride with her to see another female. He said he agreed, Foley picked him up in a silver vehicle and they drove to the North Hill playground.

He told officers Foley got out of the car and left the motor running, then two males he does not know walked toward him. They asked him if he had a scale, he said, and he told them he did not. He said they then asked him to get out of the car, which he did reluctantly and they hit him in the head, according to police.

One of the two placed the barrel of a handgun into the juvenile’s mouth, according to the account he gave police. One of them ordered him to give them everything, and they took his cell phone, wallet, necklace, shoes and watch, then left in the car in which he had been riding with Foley, he told police.

He said he ran north onto Young Street and a resident called police for him.

Police later tried to contact Foley and her mother, but she did not show up at the station, they reported.

The two males are still unidentified, according to reports, and Foley is at large.

Foley is charged with conspiracy for the offenses of robbery, aggravated and simple assault, theft, and receiving stolen property.
