Car strikes, injures pedestrian on North Hill

NEW CASTLE — A North Hill man was injured when he was hit by a car on Park Avenue.

New Castle police said William Zeiger, 69, of 510 Reis St. was taken to Jameson Hospital with a cut on the back of his head following the incident that happened just before 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The driver of the car, 84-year-old Frank Salamon of 424 Park Ave., told police he was in the second car in line at the traffic light on Highland Avenue at Park. As the light turned green, he turned right onto Park Avenue and struck Zeiger with the hood of his car and Zeiger then rolled onto the ground, he said. Salamon told police he had not seen Zeiger.

When interviewed by police at the hospital, Zeiger said he had been crossing Park Avenue and saw that cars were stopped at the red light, so he proceeded to cross.

He said he then saw a car turn and it hit him.

On Wednesday, the House of Representatives voted to authorize Speaker John Boehner to sue President Obama for allegedly overstepping his legal authority with the way he's handled Obamacare. Good call?

Yes. Obama's been overstepping his authority since day one in office. It's time he pay the piper.
No. The allegations are ridiculous and the law suit is a waste of time and tax payer money.
I don't know. I'm not a huge fan of Obama, but the suit seems a little extreme.
